March 2020 has been the start of a new period in the long history of Hungarian payment and clearing system. Instant Payment System was launched, which executes the electronic money transfers (among commercial bank accounts) within a few seconds, in real-time, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The innovation, which radically transforms the Hungarian banking, was created by the GIRO (Clearing House) and MNB (National Central Bank). Thanks to the GIRO large volume of data and information are available for researchers and professionals on the interbank system and instant payments.
With the service of our website (penzforgalom.hu), visitors can gain an insight into the tendencies and temporal changes of transactions in Hungary. The various interactive charts and figures of the dashboard provide intensity and fluctuation statistics of the Instant Payment System on a yearly, monthly, weekly and even on a daily basis. The projected data, which are coming entirely from the GIRO databases, reflect on the economic and financial situation of Hungary.
